Swathes of crushing noise blended with delicate melodies sit at the heart of Cardiff six-piece Breichiau Hir’s signature sound.

Mixing influences from post-rock, emo, punk and shoegaze, the band conjure emotionally charged orchestrations — crashing waves of distortion balanced by moments of fragile clarity.

Their intense live shows demand attention through thrilling energy and sheer volume, with introspective Welsh lyrics delivered raw and with purpose, forging an intimate connection with audiences.

After a string of standalone singles, Breichiau Hir released their Welsh Music Prize and Welsh Album of the Year-nominated debut Hir Oes i’r Cof in 2021 on Libertino Records — a collection of hard-hitting, emotionally resonant songs. Their second album, Y Dwylo Uwchben (2025), was also nominated for the Welsh Music Prize, cementing their reputation as one of Wales’s most vital and uncompromising bands.
